De-Escalation Training

De-escalation is a core function of public safety practice and is the “first layer” to safety. Effective communication, behavioral awareness, and controlled response reduce risk, prevent conflict, and protect life. Our programs provide practical, legally grounded skills to support safe, professional, and compliant interactions.

Programs Offered:

State-Aligned Program (Hawaiʻi): Enhanced Verbal Communication & Application

A 4.5-hour, in-person training designed for public safety professionals, aligned with HRS §463-10.5(d)(8) and HRS §5-7.5, providing practical communication techniques grounded in Hawaiʻi’s legal and cultural framework, with a focus on verbal control, professional judgment, and prevention through the A-L-O-H-A framework. This program builds upon the State’s initial 8-hour training through comprehensive instruction and scenario-based application, strengthening knowledge, practical skills, and compliance. Certification is valid for two (2) years.

This proprietary program, developed in collaboration with a local professional development organization and Hawaiian Studies practitioners, is delivered exclusively by Solutions-4-Security, LLC. It is the only program of its kind in Hawaiʻi integrating Aloha Spirit with structured, skills-based de-escalation communication training for public safety professionals.

Federal-Aligned Program: MOAB® Public Safety Training

A 4-hour de-escalation program designed for law enforcement, security, and military personnel, providing practical techniques for managing conflict, behavioral crises, and potentially aggressive encounters. MOAB® is a nationally recognized training program widely utilized across public safety organizations throughout the United States. Participant certification is valid for two (2) years, and the program is flexible to meet the needs of public safety organizations.

Together, these programs provide a structured approach to de-escalation that supports compliance with state and federal law, strengthens professional performance, enhances customer service, reduces liability and potential financial loss, and protects life.
