Guard Training
Solutions-4-Security pioneered Hawaii’s first security guard training program, originally adopted by the University of Hawaii and still the only security curriculum used within the UH system. Today, our programs serve new guards, active professionals, and future instructors, meeting or exceeding Hawaii Board of Private Detectives and Guards standards to prepare participants for success while reducing legal and organizational risk.
Programs Offered:
- Initial Guard Training
(8 Hours of Instruction [1 day]) – $150.00 (+tax)
Meets statutory and regulation requirements for new Guard Employee licensure. Delivered online, with in-person sessions available for groups (10+).
- Continuing Education
(4 Hour of Instruction [1/2 day]) – $75.00 (+tax)
Meets statutory and regulation requirements for Guard Employee license renewal and annual compliance training. Delivered online, with in-person sessions available for groups (10+).
- Solutions-4-Security Instructor Development Program
(24 Hours of Instruction [3 days] / Class Minimum: 5 students)
$800.00 (+tax; venue not included) / Annual Renewal: $125.00 (+tax) / Cost per Student Taught: $20.00 (+tax)
This Instructor Development program exceeds current state statutory and regulatory requirements, teaches applicable laws, applies instructional methods grounded in human performance and learning science, and allows instructors the discretion to set their own student pricing.
- Solutions-4-Security Master Instructor Development Program
(40 Hours of Instruction [5 days] / Class Minimum: 5 students)
$3,000.00 (+tax; venue not included) / Bi-Annual Renewal: $250.00 (+tax) / Cost per Student Taught: $20.00 (+tax)
The Master Instructor Development Program is an intensive, accelerated course that exceeds state and meets national standards, integrating statutory compliance with advanced program development while equipping instructors to refine teaching competencies, elevate instructional delivery and management, and expand facilitation and leadership skills to deliver exceptional training, foster professional growth, and advance industry excellence.
Prerequisites
- Instructor
o Must be a current State of Hawaii, Board approved Instructor.
- Master Instructor
o Must be current certified Solutions-4-Security Instructor
o Must have taught a minimum of ten (10) Initial 8-Hour classes.
o Must have taught a minimum of one (1) Continuing Education 4-Hour class.
o Must be certified as an instructor with a nationally recognized/accredited organization in relation to the Security Industry.
Additional: Initial Instructor and Master Instructor training is conducted “in-person”; annual training is via on-line learning unless physical skill is required.
